New couch

and paint, and carpet, and furniture arrangement.... it can never be as simple as just buying a couch can it? Anyway, these pictures are mostly for Tom and Elaine since they were there in the middle of the havoc.

The couch is brown leather, the rug is the one that was in Gavin's bed room and the color is "toast."

This side of the room was still under construction... but you get the idea. The train table is over in that corner. We haven't decided yet what should be on the walls.

February

I've been baking bread lately. I found a no-knead method that is really easy and only take a few minutes to mix the ingredients. This is ciabatta, our favorite so far from http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/2009/01/no-knead-ciabatta-bread-you-can-believe.html. It
is really easy. I added 3 tsp. of vital wheat gluten to the recipe (it is processed out of processed flour).

Yep, they have the same sweatshirt. I bought them at different times and never really intended for them to have matching outfits, but Evan thought it was funny and went to Nick's dresser to get the matching outfit.

Dave got really camera happy. I have a series of pics like this with the kids from my birthday.

Nicholas enjoying a one of Evan's daily percussion recitals. I have a good video of him dancing, but need to figure out how to convert to something faster to download.

Snow pics

Snow!
The "plow" that got stuck trying to plow my street. Um... a pick up truck in 3 feet of snow, never could've called that one.
The bigger plow they called to tow out the other plow.

The van still pretty much looks like this a week later. Except now it is just ice that LOOKS like snow. Dave and Jeanette, we hope to be able to visit you in April, but the van may still be frozen to our street.
The snow is up to Gavin's shoulders.
You can see the snow is up to Chloe's armpits.

The only place our kids could play was in the street. Luckily, no one could actually drive on our street.
The snow cave, a miserable failure. This is the one and only time we got the kids in it. Poor Dan. He was awfully excited about it.
We honestly could have lost our children in all this snow. (and some days we wanted to!)
Our snowman before the blizzard
Our snowman after. The snow comes up to his "belly button"!

Making valentines for daddy

The finished product
The top part of Chloe's literally reads "I L U D" which is, of course, I love you daddy. The bottom is her name with a backwards C and a backwards L. She's getting pretty good!
Gavin just colored. ;)

Some other shots

I can't remember if I've posted these...

This was a storm back in December. We didn't get any snow to speak of this week.

Thank you for the hats, Aunt Sarah!

Evan looking tough and Nick looking worried.

Close Ups

Nick is very close to crawling (still). He can now push himself to sitting, pull to standing, and will cruise along the furniture.

"Two-Toofers"- Dad's newest nick name.

"Show me your mean face!"

Love these eyelashes!

The Puppeteer

I really didn't think that puppets would be a genetic thing. For those of you that don't know, I actually put on puppet shows for the other elementary students at Macedon El.

Yes, Evan has a big ol' bruise on his head. He ran into the Wine Table.

The Boys' Rooms

Many hours of searching the Internet went in to finding these wall decals. I am very happy with them.

Nick's room, for now. I think we will go with a train theme for his room after his birthday.

Stuff

I am experimenting making fabric wall clings. Here is the M I made. This version is made with flannel fabric and then attached to contact paper. It is good for one or two repositions but then starts to become less sticky. I have ordered some vinyl that clings to the wall with no adhesive. Let me know if you want your kid's names.

Also - I see we have some followers that I don't recognize. I know one was an adult site spammer and I blocked them. Take a look and see if you recognize some of the odd ones. I also noticed we were getting some posting from spammers...grrrrr
