Our hike & picnic

About to set off. They both insisted on wearing their backpacks. Chloe's has our pretzels and apples in it. Gavin's is empty.

Gavin and Chloe like to have the ties around their waist like a "backpacking" backpack.
Pretend you like each other kids!

Investigating the animals. We saw small fish, a salamander, and "waterskiing bugs" per Chloe.

It was a GORGEOUS day.

In the "cave" of the upturned tree's roots.
This uprooted tree was huge. Chloe was collecting spiderwebs.
I see you!

Picnic lunch

Our house is full of babies.

Plastic ones at least.

I have recently discovered that I can fill a tub of water, call it a baby bathtub, and my kids will play for two hours straight with no....er..... very few arguments. I LOVE babies.

Here is Gavin with the baby. The ending is classic Gavin.

Chloe's dance outfit

Well, Chloe has started dance. She is very excited. This is her complete outfit (with her hair pulled back for class). I love how she sticks her tongue out when she is concentrating. Very prima ballerina if you ask me. ;)

Butterflies from Aunt Sarah

Aunt Sarah sent Chloe a pretty special birthday gift. She sent her caterpillars that would turn into butterflies. We watched them all turn into cacoons and then one day when we woke up we have five new butterflies. Chloe wanted to release them from day 1, but Gavin loved them and spent a lot of time having long conversations with them. The following video has some narrative from Gavin and the release video.

Apple Picking

This is just a funny picture of Nick. Notice the harmonica nearby.

Ah, the benefits of having a preschooler; the best apples are within our reach!

Like Evan, Nick likes goats a lot. Here is trying to give it a kiss!

Summer 2010

One of Evan's frogs from earlier this summer.

Evan's first black eye. He ran into the wine rack.

Dave and Ev on the whale watch.

Double trouble. Nick and Ev liked to get on the table and watch the construction next door.
