Gloucester

It actually stopped raining for a day and we headed out to a beautiful beach in Gloucester. Nicholas slept the whole time, but here he is putting his feet in the Atlantic for the first time ("I'll take you to the sea..."). Well, he is actually putting them in a tidal pool because the water was like bath water.

Our other little fish practicing "swimming". Evan went charging right into the water. One of these days we will learn to put him in his bathing suit before he sees the ocean. David had to run down the beach to catch up to him. Because the tide goes out so far at this beach, leaving a lot of sand to heat up in the sun, the water is surprisingly warm as the tide is coming up. We will be spending a lot of time at this beach in the future, it is perfect for kids.

Gavin talking

He doesn't say much, but he does know his animal sounds!

Summer has begun!

The most glorious time for our family is here! Summer! With all four of us at home for the next two months, we get to spend some fun times together. Since I was at work yesterday, today was the first official day. We went to a butterfly house in MD, then on to a picnic lunch at a park where we rode a carousel and 15 minute train ride. Then back to the house to play and make pizzas for dinner and have snow cones for dessert! It was a wonderful day!!
Chloe! I don't think that was part of the recipe!
Dennis working on his half
Gavin is ticked off that anything involving food is happening WITHOUT him!!!

Chloe walked around for 30 minutes holding her hand like this.... she SO wanted them to land on her. Sadly, she was the the ONLY one of us who did NOT get a butterfly visit. We said we would go back when grandma and papa come to visit. :)
Chloe and Gavin enjoying the butterfly becnh
Checking out the butterfly on daddy
The butterflies LOVED dan... here is one of many!
butterfly bushes were all around filled with butterflies
All the dark specks on the white windows above Dan's head are butterflies... they were everywhere!
Chloe and Aiden checking out the butterflies

You can see that Aiden (2) is just as big as Chloe... and he weighs WAY more than she does. Crazy!
