A Thing of Beauty
Okay, so I admit, he is my child and I am partial to watching soccer. That said, Evan really is something to watch when he is playing soccer. He is a relentless defender both in and out of the goal net and he is always on the ball! These pictures were all from his first class and he has come so far in the last three weeks that both of the coaches have now asked me if he had prior experience with soccer! (I'm such a proud mama!)
Standing on his spot for instruction above and practicing "squishing the ball" below. Notice the tongue out?
Home Depot
Our Home Depot has a free kids drop in workshop the first Saturday of the month. The boys have really enjoyed it and were so excited when they saw that they got to make cars this month! FYI: Lowe's also has drop in workshops.
I am still learning how to use the camera, especially in tight places!
Nick was so proud of his car and flew it through the store!
Ready for Spring
The boys are so ready for warmer weather. Evan has been going on and on about how tired he is of having to put on his "winter gear." He must have been traumatized by the mosquitoes last year though because as much as he wants to get out, he keeps complaining that the mosquitoes are going to be back! Sarah, check out the stop action in the shot above. I was practicing that skill.
So, the snow you see here is after about a foot had already melted.
Yes, he has a little red highlights in his hair too (just like Ev did)... you can only see it in certain light though.

Matching Outfits
We went to a birthday party yesterday and Max and Gigi had "matching" outfits. I made a tie t-shirt for Max out the same material I made Gigi's dress. Getting both kids to stand in one place wasn't so easy. Max has a death grip on Gigi's hand trying to keep her in one spot.

Gavin
Three years ago you came into my life...
Before you were here we thought your wild-willed sister filled our lives...
I had no idea how I would feel when I saw your beautiful face...
And now you are here... messy and headstrong and in love with life...
Already showing me things I never knew before...
Happy and healthy and amazing in every way...
My beautiful baby boy...
I love you Gavin... Happy Birthday.

Gavin's birthday party!
So... I lied. We did end up throwing Gavin a party. There were no favors, no decorations, no organized games. Just the two girls from his day care, mac and cheese (his request) and his monster truck cupcake cake. And it was a great afternoon. They ran around the house and played all afternoon. Can I hope that all the rest of his parties are that easy??

Gavin's birthday party!
Grandma Elaine and Papa came down for Gavin's birthday party (which this year was just a trip to Monster Jam). Luckily we had SOME nice weather and got out for some dog walking.
Gavin opening two of his birthday presents. The Gravedigger T-shirt is from Grandma and Papa and the shark monster truck was from his sister. We decided she should give him his present since she almost spilled the beans three times since buying it 3 days ago.
Can;t you just hear the Monster Truck "YEEHAW!"?
GRAAAAAAAAVE DIGGER!
She thought this was pretty darn cool.
Happy early birthday little man!
